Dick Morris Predicts (Guarantees?) a Big Bush Win Tonight

In yesterday's New York Post. The money quote:

It doesn't matter if John Kerry is really Daniel Webster in disguise, schooled in the arts of debate and fluent or even eloquent in expression. This first debate will not be decided on style or points. It will reach its pre-ordained conclusion — a big Bush win — because of the inherent contradictions in Kerry's position on these issues.
Put aside Morris' disdain for Kerry as a candidate and the political proclivities of his readership in the Post. The idea that Bush can skate by on his simple restatement of policy positions and trounce Kerry in the process is surely misguided. This is the best opportunity for Kerry to raise questions about the colossal errors and miscalculations of the Bush presidency in order to cast doubt on his ability to lead the country forward. If Morris were asked to spin his debate prognosis in the opposite direction, it would not be hard. Indeed, let Bush focus on his current foreign policy positions. Then attack him for (1) failing to properly assess reality, (2) failure to tolerate anyone who disagrees with his pre-ordained judgments, (3) failing to admit errors or mistakes even when they are painfully obvious to all, and most critically, (4) failure, or rank inability, to adapt to these changes when things deviate from the plan. Rattle off the list of failures quickly - on correctly assessing intelligence, on the paucity of the coalition, on the mounting deaths, costs, rising oil prices, bin Laden, Abu Ghareb, WMD... just REPEATING these will guarantee a Bush victory? Please. Hopefully tonight Kerry has some aces up his sleeve that will help him call the Bush campaign's big bluff - that they are best equipped to win the "War on Terra".
